Aurora Hauntings Ghost Walk

Aurora Hauntings Ghost Walk

What To Expect

Brian suddenly burst out from the shadows at the west side of the building, running like he was on fire. His face was stark white with fear, eyes bulging wide, and he was too far beyond terror to even scream. Brian grabbed his bike from the bottom of the pile of kids' bicycles, forcefully ripped it free from the entangling wheels and handlebars, and then took off on his bike like a rocket. Strangely, Brian refused to come to the door to tell them what had happened to him back in the shadows. Stranger still, Brian swore he would never again go back to the Aurora Roundhouse, saying only that, "The Devil's in that hole!" He never explained what he meant by that...and he never did return to play in the Roundhouse.

Explore the “City of Cemeteries” with EMF ghost meters on this two hour ghost walk tour of Aurora’s thriving downtown. Stepping silently from the railroad’s haunted, 150-year-old roundhouse to Aurora’s Riverwalk and Stolp Island, you’ll shudder at tales of shocking murders, ghastly crimes and lost souls.

Highlights

  • In 1881 Aurora got the nickname, "The City of Lights" because it was the first town in Illinois to light its streets with electric lights. But Aurora is also called, "The City of Cemeteries," for the unusually high number of graveyards located here.
  • The first burials at Mount Olivet Cemetery were prior to 1850, but people have reported seeing a 1958 Lincoln Continental drive up to the front gates and two women in 1950s-era clothing get out. Suddenly they and the car simply fade away.
  • It’s one thing to hear the spooky tale; it’s quite another to physically stand at the actual location where one of the city’s darkest events of the past occurred. And it’s even far more than that when your electromagnetic field (EMF) detector provided by the tour suddenly starts to flash and beep, which makes you wonder with eerie, hair-raising fright…Is the ghost of the tale standing next to you, listening about their own tragic demise?

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you go inside any of the haunted buildings?

We focus on building exteriors and outdoor spaces. Businesses and public places are open for you to visit during regular business hours. Otherwise we respect the privacy of individuals and organizations and expect that our guests do the same.

  • Do guests really see ghosts on this tour?

We can never guarantee a supernatural encounter, but we will explain paranormal phenomena such as cold spots and residual hauntings. What we do guarantee: Our local connections and dedication to research means you'll get authentic accounts — in all their shocking detail.

  • Can I bring my pet?

Service animals are welcome. However, for liability issues, please leave your furry friends at home if you don’t require their assistance.

  • Is this ghost tour kid-appropriate?

While our tours do not contain anything too graphic or inappropriate, we find that kids that enjoy history have the best time. You know your children and that's left up to you. We do not recommend bringing children in strollers because sometimes that can be difficult with larger walking groups.

  • What if I'm late or cannot find my guide?

We do our best to answer calls and emails as promptly as they are received. Please make sure to leave a voicemail with the city and tourtime.  We try to accommodate travel and weather issues, but our public tours cannot wait for more than 10 minutes. Reschedules are available if the date you are interested in is not sold out.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

Because this is a limited capacity tour, all sales are final. But we will reschedule you if you have an emergency, we love ghosts, not monsters!
