Aurora Two Brothers Roundhouse Ghost Tour
"America's Ghost Storyteller" Diane Ladley takes you on a lantern-led tour inside this historic establishment.
In 1994 a true blue, all-American hero visited the decaying Roundhouse. He weaved among the obstacles of rubble, trash, discarded needles, and rusted out rails; danced around gaping holes and oily puddles dripping with rainwater from the broken roof; moved through the cold shadows that seemed to fall back from his presence...and he fell in love with the crumbling old wreck. He was Walter Payton, the all-star running back of the Chicago Bears football team from 1975 to 1987, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, winner of multiple MVP and Player of the Year awards, the NFL Player of the Decade, champion of Super Bowl XX, Hall of Fame inductee...
Restoration of the old ruin began on March 17, 1995, and on March 21, 1996 it opened as Walter Payton's Roundhouse Complex. But soon after its grand opening employees began to experience strange things they couldn't explain. It only took one night alone in the huge stone building for their brewmaster to refuse to stay so late by himself ever again. He said he had heard too many strange noises and saw shadows that he simply couldn't explain or find the source of. "It's fine as long as there are people around, or if it's daylight. But you can't pay me enough to stay overnight alone in a haunted place."
Now you get to be the ghost hunter! Join our paranormal investigations and haunted history tours to explore this beautifully restored historic building for yourself.
This 1.5-hour, lantern-guided ghost tour inside Aurora's Two Brothers Roundhouse is hosted by Diane Ladley, "America's Ghost Storyteller," and includes an opportunity for ghost tour guests to participate in a paranormal investigation in an attempt to determine if there is indeed life AFTER the end of the line in Aurora, Illinois.
