Ghosts of Waukesha Book Launching at Milwaukee Paranormal Conference 2025
Wisconsin’s haunted history has a brand-new spotlight this fall. Ghosts of Waukesha, written by paranormal investigator Josh Hughes with R. Michael Huberty of American Ghost Walks, will officially launch on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Milwaukee Paranormal Conference.
This spine-tingling new book uncovers the most haunted places in Waukesha, Wisconsin, blending historical research, chilling local legends, and first-hand paranormal encounters. It’s the first dedicated volume to capture Waukesha’s supernatural past and present... perfect for fans of Wisconsin ghost stories, paranormal investigators, or anyone curious about the spirits said to still walk the streets of “Spring City.”
A Local Guide to Haunted Waukesha
Since 2021, Hughes has been the guide of the popular Waukesha Ghost Walks, introducing visitors to the city’s strangest tales. In the introduction, he writes:
“Whether spirits remain and choose to engage with us or not, their stories still live on. Knowing the story gives us more focus on interacting with a potentially haunted location.”

Haunted Highlights from Ghosts of Waukesha
Here are just a few of the eerie stories you’ll discover in the book:
- Club 400 — Once owned by Les Paul’s family, this historic tavern still echoes with music. A psychic investigator even claimed to see “a man in the basement with a guitar.”
- Little Lord Fauntleroy — The city’s most famous cold case, the mysterious 1921 death of a young boy found in a quarry pond, remains unsolved. His grave is still visited every March.
- Cutler Park — Early settler Morris Cutler swore he was awakened by “phantom Native American voices… arguing with their wives in the middle of the night.”
- The Hille Family Curse — A farmhouse plagued with generations of tragedy, where witnesses still report dark shadow figures on the land.
